Agenda

During the hustle and bustle of registration rides are constantly given using Hagglund's and Snow bikes to entrants and spectators. After a role call and safety briefing camouflaged suits and helmets are issued to six separate teams. Each team will compete in 6 activities normally 432 Armoured personal carrier, Lance missile carrier, 18th Century flintlock and mortar firing, SAS woodland patrol, Abbot Gun Tank, Hagglund Bv206, Firearms and Terrorism lecture and Clay pigeon shooting.

  • Driving a 432 Armoured Personal Carrier: lever steer, automatic gearbox multi role vehicle. Also known as the battlefield van.
  • Driving a Lance Missile Carrier: American origin but used by British forces, carried a short range surface to surface, Nuclear missile thankfully never used in anger. Fully amphibious.
  • Driving an Abbot Gun Tank: 17 ton, simple to drive, and can fire a shell 14 miles. Stationed on the Rhine during the cold war.
  • Driving a Hagglund Bv206: A fully amphibious all track drive, skid steer, automatic. Used in both Gulf war's by the Royal marines. A favourite over compost corner.
  • 18th Century flintlock and mortar firing: You will learn to load and fire a Flintlock Musket and a 17th century Mortar - then pit your new found skills against the other contestants. Loads of flame loads of smoke... don't get too attached to your eyebrows.
  • SAS woodland patrol: Learn the role of the SAS and listen to a briefing about landmines, trip wires and everything associated with jungle warfare. Then use your new found skills on a woodland patrol with the SAS, and edge your way through the booby trapped woods.
  • Firearms and Terrorism lecture: Attend a fascinating talk on firearms and terrorism or the Great War. With genuine deactivated weapons and equipment. All the questions you ever wanted answered, ask our expert. Test your marksmanship with a stealth silenced 12bore shotgun. An experienced instructor will help hone you shooting skills.

The FULL MONTY DAY'S winner gets the chance to drive a 56ton Chieftain Main Battle Tank....... over a family saloon car!
